Software Engineer, Archaeologist & Heritage Specialist
I am lucky to have found several professional 'true loves' in my life and I look forward to tell you more about them.
What do I do?
As a professional Software Engineer, an educated Archaeologist, and being passionate about sharing knowledge, I have a strongly multi-disciplinary approach to problem-solving.
-
I have always had a strong interest in innovative technology, no matter what I have been working with.
Over time, I wanted to become part of making these innovations myself and started in software engineering in 2017 through Amsterdam University of Applid Sciences.
As a side-path from 'traditional' high-code development, I started working with Low Code development in 2018 and have enjoyed this choice since.
Since 2018 I have professionally worked with enterprise-grade development platforms OutSystems and Oracle Apex, as well as Oracle Fusion Middleware in the Netherlands and Norway.
My speciality lies with OutSystems, where I have built extensive experience as a certified Expert-level developer and Tech Lead.
-
I started my professional life as an Archaeologist, graduated as Research Master from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in 2011.
Having worked as a prospective archaeologist in the first years of my career, I over time became involved as Project Leader Archaeology in several small consultancy projects in the Netherlands.
In these projects I have helped create material for and enabled sharing of archaeological information to cultural audiences through exhibits and published material.
-
I enjoy the artistic challenges of metalworking, with a focus on chainmail making. I use old methods and historical perspectives to create modern and unique jewellery and accessories.
